{Today, the ____ day of [month], in the year________ (secular date) which corresponds to _______(Hebrew date), we ____________ and ______________ stand together before our community of family and friends as [bride and groom/grooms/brides/beloveds] to affirm our love and share our joy.} (Optional opening)
_______, [the bride/groom/beloved] said to ______ {the groom/bride/beloved]: CUSTOM TEXT FROM PERSON 1 (about 120 words).
_______, [the bride/groom/beloved] said to ______ {the groom/bride/beloved]: CUSTOM TEXT FROM PERSON 2 (about 120 words).
With these signatures, we accept each other’s promises and begin our lives together as a family.
______________________
This text is special in that it allows each person to write their own ketubah promises, to be revealed at the ketubah signing. The proofs will be sent individually with the other person’s section blocked out. Primarily intended for interfaith couples, but may be paired with any other traditional text as long as you’ve cleared it with your rabbi.
The opening is optional because this text may be used in designs with two sides, such as the Braided Cherry Trees design, where the opening and closing might not work, instead each person would sign underneath “With these signatures…” and the date would be included there.
If used in a ketubah without two sides, the opening will go across the top and each person’s custom section will be a separate, side by side, column.
