On the _______ day of the week, on the _____ day of the month of _______ in the year five thousand seven hundred ______-____, corresponding to the _____ day of the month of ______ in the year two thousand ____-____, here in ________, Canada, the groom, ________ ________ ________, said to the bride, ________ ________ ________, “Be my wife by the consent of the Bet Din of Canada according to the law of Moses and Israel. I will cherish and respect you and work for our mutual sustenance, living with you as your husband.” The bride, ________, said to the groom, ________, “Be my husband by the consent of the Bet Din of Canada according to the law of Moses and Israel. I will cherish and respect you and work for our mutual sustenance, living with you as your wife.” ________ and ________ have promised to establish a Jewish home from this day forth. They have committed themselves to the covenant of marriage written this day between them. The symbolic acquisition by the groom and bride, with regard to everything written above, has been performed. All herein written is valid and binding.

Couples getting married in Canada by a Reform rabbi may not be able to change this text (check with your rabbi for their requirements). Other couples may change the text.
If you decide to make changes, you may change the wording of this text by changing words, deleting anything, using sections from other Ketubah Arts’ texts, or adding a few words.
